How it Started
About Us
Biscottis has been a neighborhood restaurant for 25 years. In 1993, Barbara and Karin brought a gourmet restaurant to the Avondale – Riverside community. Serving artisan bread, fancy coffee drinks, and decadent dessert. Today, Biscottis is still a bustling restaurant that sources locally and actively helps build the neighborhood’s charm. Tucked away in a historical Klutho building, Biscottis has grown to 100 seats and is open 7 days a week. Dinner specials are served at 5 p.m. and happy hour is from 3-6:30 p.m. daily.

The Snail of Approval is Slow Food First Coast’s way of recognizing the food-related providers that are making significant contributions to the transformation of our food system to one that is good, clean, and fair.
When you eat at a Snail of Approval restaurant or shop at a Snail of Approval store, you’re supporting local farmers and food artisans, sustainable agriculture, cultural food traditions, and humane practices. You’re helping to stop agricultural pollution, reduce greenhouse gases, and slow the loss of biodiversity. You’re ensuring the survival of endangered heirloom varietals, heritage breeds, and traditional foodways.
